Guerilla Performance at its best

Check out this video from an East Liverpool train station. The early morning commuters got more than they bargained for! Thank you to Toni M. for sending this out on NeOhioPal. I’d love to see this spontaneous and entertaining sort of guerilla style performance used more by theatres as a marketing tactic. In high school we used to randomly enact musical theatre scenes in the middle of McDonald’s. Sounds hokey, but it sure grabs everyone’s attention. Any ideas for using this as a marketing tactic for theatre?

  1. Very cool! Our audition class at University of Akron went to the student union to perform monologues. We also had a few actors from Twelfth Night and Cabaret perform scenes around campus. It certainly got attention. Our director from Twelfth Night had the idea to drop fake money (that looked very real) all over campus to advertize as well.
