This Monday Sept. 8th and Tuesday Sept. 9th Weathervane Playhouse in Akron will host the AIDS Taskforce benefit production of “Schoolhouse Rocks Live!” Myself and several other talented actors including Nick Koesters*, John Riddle, Kristin Netzband, Allison Butler, and Tina Stump* will present a slightly askew and even more slightly adult staged reading of the popular children’s musical. Every dollar of the ticket price goes directly to the AIDS Taskforce to support the funding of medical research, support, education, and outreach for AIDS research. This terrible disease still inflicts the lives of millions of people around the world–chances are you have a friend, relative, or coworker that has contracted AIDS. While research has come amazingly far over the last 20 years, there still is no cure for AIDS. This is a very fun way to show your support for AIDS research. In addition to the show there will be a silent auction and raffle prizes, including a chance for a walk on role in the show! Monday and Tuesday’s performances start at 7:30 pm. You can purchase tickets at the door or by calling Weathervane Playhouse at 330-836-2626.
